Some of my favorite crafts:

Teacup Candles: Over the holidays, I saw this DIY online and tried it out! They ended up being some Christmas presents I gave. Simply borrowing some of my mom's old teacups, melting candle wax to a liquid, and combining the two with a wick! The project was so fun I've been thinking of what else I can make into a candle, so expect more melted wax!

Maps + Scrabble Tiles + Frame = After falling in love with this frame at a local thrift store, I purchased it with no idea of what to do with it (the painting originally in it was really ugly). Having seen projects like this before I had the idea of using this quote as wall art. The stars aligned when I found a map of my hometown at my favorite local thrift store here in Oregon, just a quick 500 miles away. After pasting the map over the picture originally in the frame I hot clued scrabble tiles and BAM! I now have this beautiful piece of artwork with some secretly-sentimental value!

Elephant Pillow: As my mother always says; "steal with your eyes" became the backbone of this project. After seeing a similar pillow in this shape/form at Urban Outfitters for a price way out of my budged, I decided it was something I could do on my own! Using scraps of some of my favorite fabrics, I pieced them together to create this general shape which I shaped down into the elephant shape I wanted. The back is a solid fabric and I added a button for an eye! This project did require a basic knowledge of sewing and a sewing machine.

Large Frame with Hanging Pictures: With a large space on the mantel in my living room, I struggled to find something that would fill the space. Again, I discovered this as a DIY project online, which I recreated. While back in California on weekend, I asked my handy-man father to glue some wood together to create a frame. About 10 minutes later he came back to me with this, which I was beyond pleased with! Completed with some hemp glued across, tiny close-pins, and pictures of my roommates and I, this frame fills the space and looks amazing!

Revamped Bedside Table: Before moving into my Oregon home I thrifted this dresser for 15 bucks! Simply by adding a few coats of paint and cute knobs from Cost Plus I have this functional pop of color next to my black and white bed!

Some Things I've Glittered:

Mod Podge + Glitter = You can glitter anything! It's just as simple as that!
(...my gold obsession is becoming apparent...)

Silver Kitchenware Wall Art: Now this is more my mom's craft than mine, but I assisted in the crafting so I'm going to take some credit. We picked out some sterling silverware from Goodwill, a sliver plate with a pretty border, a glass bowl, and some SUPER, SUPER glue. Now there was a lot more that went into this, but basically we glued and glued and glued and now have this unique piece of art in my kitchen that people are constantly asking about!

To Start

I want to show some of my favorite things I've glittered, painted and mod-podged.

I will be posting pictures of some of my favorite crafts I've done recently, with short descriptions, to give a background of my style and point of view. As I continue to craft from this day forward I will be posting tutorials for each of my projects!
